Where True Healing Begins
Virtual Therapy in Virginia. Also serving Connecticut
Providing a space to slow down, feel seen, and begin healing parts of yourself that may have learned to survive through pain. This can be a place where you finally get to take a breath, feel understood, and begin building a stronger, more grounded relationship with yourself—so real healing can take root, and growth can happen from the inside out.
It’s Not Random—There’s a Reason You Feel This Way
If you’ve ever found yourself wondering…
Why do I keep reacting this way?
Why do the smallest things turn into the biggest arguments?
Why do I feel so overwhelmed, shut down, or on edge in my relationships?
Why does it feel like I’m stuck in the same patterns, no matter how hard I try?
You’re not alone—and you’re not broken.
Maybe you’ve learned to stay quiet to keep the peace.
Maybe you overthink everything, trying to avoid getting hurt.
Maybe you feel triggered before you even understand why.
At some point, it starts to feel exhausting—like you’re constantly trying to manage your emotions, your relationships, and yourself.
That’s where this work begins.
Together, we slow things down, make sense of those reactions, and start creating space for something different.
Welcome to your built-in support system.
Even if you’re not fully convinced right now, I am. You have more ability and potential than you’ve been giving yourself permission to use.
My role is to help you develop steady, grounded confidence—the kind that carries you forward when things feel uncertain and keeps you moving toward what you actually want.
No more disguising hesitation as “being practical” or “just realistic”. No more shrinking to fit what feels safe.
This is your moment to move with intention—and follow through.

Individual Therapy
I recognize that trauma and grief impact each person differently, shaping emotional, cognitive, and physical responses. My role is to meet clients where they are, honoring their lived experiences while supporting them in developing a sense of safety, stability, and empowerment. I emphasize trust-building, emotional regulation, and the restoration of a sense of control.
Incorporating Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a structured, evidence-based method for processing distressing memories and reducing their emotional intensity.

Meet Ghosia Raqib, LPC
Founder of Roots Within Therapy PLLC
Licensed Professional Counselor
For a long time, I believed the best way to keep the peace was to stay quiet—going along with what others wanted, setting my own thoughts aside. Some might call it people-pleasing. At the time, it felt like the right thing to do.
But eventually, I realized something: what I thought was “best” had slowly turned into what was simply easier. It became second nature to pack away my feelings, to keep them tucked away in a box.
Then came a moment where I questioned it all—what would really happen if I stopped closing those boxes?
That question changed everything.
For the first time, I felt like I could actually breathe. And from there, life started to open up in a different way—one with more confidence, more balance, and a lot more love.

Water is where I feel most at peace—whether it’s the ocean, a flowing river, a calm lake, or a gentle stream.
I find a deep sense of comfort in traveling—whether it’s a quick weekend escape or a two-week adventure, stepping away helps me reset and reconnect.
I collect a handmade painting from a local artist in every place I visit—a meaningful souvenir that captures the spirit of each destination.
Did someone say comedy? It’s my favorite genre—there’s nothing like a good laugh to lift your mood and boost those feel-good endorphins.
Shopping is my own form of retail therapy—whether it’s shoes, handbags, or finding that perfect pop of blue, sometimes a little style refresh goes a long way.
Family is my anchor and greatest joy—they’ve shaped who I am, and meaningful relationships are something I deeply value.
One of my go-to coping strategies is painting a room—it helps me channel my energy into something creative and grounding.
